graston technique

Graston technique is an instrument assisted soft tissue technique that is used to detect and break down myofascial adhesions. Dr. Kristy uses her Graston stainless steel tools to scrape the tissues at different angles which breaks up the adhesions, increases circulation and causes a micro-inflammation to the area being treated so that the body can work on healing those tissues the proper way. Breaking down adhesions and increasing circulation to the effected area allows for proper movement and function of the muscle and fascia. Graston technique coupled with your chiropractic adjustment and prescribed at home stretches provide optimal treatment results. The most common risk to receiving Graston technique is increased redness to the area being worked on and possible breaking of the capillary walls which appears as tiny red dots called petechiae. Petechiae is an indication to Dr. Kristy to be done working Graston technique in that area.
